A Global Capacity-Building Initiative for Community Health and Sustainability
At ActivEnviro, we believe in the power of collaboration to create healthier, more sustainable communities. WE CARE (Wellbeing Ecosystems Community Action Resources & Education) is our newest initiative focused on preventive health, sustainable land use, and enhancing public spaces. Through interdisciplinary education, research, and hands-on facilitation, WE CARE brings together experts and communities to improve quality of life worldwide.
WE CARE in action! In May 2025, facilitators and educators from Amasya University, ActivEnviro, the municipality of Amasya, Turkey, and other allied partners came together to create and offer an eight-day workshop on site in Amasya. The workshop engaged students, professionals, educators, and municipal workers from landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, urban planning, and allied disciplines in developing innovative, strategic urban design and planning solutions for Amasya. Participants explored various relevant topics, including sustainable strategies to combat climate challenges, enhance water management, improve preventive health and quality of life, and create equitable access to green and public spaces. The outcomes were summarized, focused, and presented to local municipal leaders and over 30 visiting Turkish mayors to help contribute to Amasya Municipality’s vision for sustainable urban development.
